    KPI Dashboard

    Definition

A consolidated view of the 5–10 metrics that actually drive your business — typically refreshed monthly alongside the financial close. Examples vary by industry but usually include a revenue metric, a profitability metric, a cash metric, an efficiency metric, and a leading indicator.

    Why it matters

Standard P&L and balance sheet are accounting outputs, not management tools. A KPI dashboard translates financial data into the few numbers a business owner actually steers by — gross margin by service line, utilization rate, customer acquisition cost, days sales outstanding, cash days on hand. Without one, owners drown in data and starve for insight.
